The world of technology continues to evolve, yet it becomes even more challenging to keep up with the latest trends. This can be especially hard for young entrepreneurs starting their businesses. Despite the challenges faced, Kelly Kercher is a figure that signifies that resilience is needed to conquer. He’s an IT expert, founder and president of K3 Technology- a Denver-based IT Services Company focused on helping medium to large-sized businesses by catering to their IT needs and challenges.

Kelly’s journey into the IT space began during childhood. As identical triplets, the Kercher brothers had an interesting childhood full of opportunities. The brothers were featured in multiple commercials, including a National Xbox and a Sears Christmas special; opening up an entirely new world of opportunities for Kelly and his brothers. However, Kelly was focused on pursuing a career in the IT field and started his career as a network engineer shortly after graduating from Computer Information Systems and Business at Colorado Mesa University.

Given his passion for IT and determination to succeed in the industry, Kelly rapidly climbed up the ladder at his old company. Following a decade of service at his workplace, the founder reached out to him to offer him a take-over, given the founder’s decision to exit his position and look into other business directions. Kelly was very interested and spent the next two years trying to get the deal done. However, he and the founder didn’t quite get to a solid agreement on crucial aspects of the business, so he had to let go.

With a solid determination and the will to go all-in despite inherent risks, Kelly started K3 Technology. Quite well known, starting and running a new business is usually a tough one initially. Kelly nevertheless took up the challenge even though he had to undertake practically everything that pertains to running the business. Moreso, he had to make do with the business’s minimal revenue. However, Kelly was well prepared mentally and emotionally for the task at hand, and nothing could dissuade him from seeing it through. Kelly took the challenges in stride and implemented every lesson he learned. With that time, his efforts paid off, and that’s how he made K3 Technology what it is today.

As a young, successful entrepreneur in a fast-paced field, Kelly has four tips for aspiring business owners in IT. First, they must have a clear vision of where they want to go and what they want to achieve. Kelly knew he wanted to own a company, and that’s what he set out to build despite the many challenges he faced along the way. While he faced these challenges and many more, his resolve was unwavering- this could be attributed to the energy and enthusiasm he had for his business. From building a team to growing and expanding it, Kelly continued head-strong and relentlessly until everything fell into its proper place.

Kelly admonishes business owners to be hardworking and consistent. He believes a dedicated entrepreneur should work hard and put in long hours that other people may not. Entrepreneurs must also learn how to handle rejection and setbacks in stride because they are imminent in any business. Finally, Kelly says a motivated entrepreneur must stay focused on their dream and keep moving no matter what; he added that with their grit to succeed, they would weather any storm and come out on top.
