Clay County schools are offering free introductory computer classes for adults in May, according to a media release.

The classes on computers and cloud-based computing will be offered at three local schools and will include a complimentary meal.

This course will in local school district computer labs will be taught by Jana Fletcher, Henrietta ISD business and technology teacher, and Clay County Judge Mike Campbell, former technology specialist for Region 9 Education Service Center.

Each three-hour class will begin at 6 p.m. This will be a hands-on class, so space is limited.

Here is the course content:

  • Cybersecurity and Internet Safety

  • What is the “Cloud” and what are Cloud-based applications

  • Intro to Word Processing

  • Using Spreadsheets with real-world examples

The class will be held on the following dates:

  • Bellevue High School, May 3

  • Henrietta High School, May 5

  • Midway High School, May 10

The classes are being offered thanks to a grant through the North Texas Regional Planning Commission in cooperation with Clay County Texas A&M Agrilife Extension, Clay County and Clay County ISDs.
